Cage Warriors 195 Preview: Alex O’Sullivan returns, SBG’s Scatizzi & Solli debut

Cage Warriors is back in the famous city of Rome, Italy this Saturday. Thirteen bouts will go down in the Palapellicone at Cage Warriors 195.

Danielle Scatizzi (13-8) is a Bellator and PFL veteran strapping on the yellow gloves for the first time. The SBG Ireland man is known for always taking the toughest fights and he’s performed on some pretty big stages. The Roman is a well rounded competitor, possessing some good wrestling where he does damage with ground and pound, and then searches for a submission. The 32-year-old is tough and durable, and easily capable of dominating to a finish. Adrian Kępa (12-10) is a grizzled veteran who has competed for Oktagon and LFL in the past, and makes his sophomore appearance for CW. The Pole is a blood and thunder warrior who loves getting into bloody scraps. The Mysłowice man will be headhunting early and often, as he struggles majorly with his defensive Jiu Jitsu.

Francesca Nuzzi (10-2) is another PFL veteran making the walk for CW for the first time. The Aurora MMA standout is a former regional champion and has a really solid wrestling game. The Roman has some nice chokes and a wicked guillotine in his locker. The 29-year-old also has impressive kickboxing with some pop on his punches and a big head kick. Lucas Rodrigues (12-7) is also a former champion in his homeland and he travels across the Atlantic to compete here. The Brazilian has won ten of his last thirteen and he’s a generally exciting fighter. The 34-year-old is active and on the front foot in striking exchanges, and he’s got a nice choke game on the deck.

Nicolò Solli (5-2) makes his second appearance in the yellow gloves after coming in from Bellator, winning his debut via rear naked choke in May. The SBG Ireland man is a tricky submission player who’s dangerous on top and off his back. The 27-year-old also has some power on the feet to beware of, however tap out is usually his path to victory. Daniel Karlsson (4-2) is an IMMAF veteran and returns to CW for the first time since May 2023, also in Rome, where he came up short against middleweight king Dario Bellandi. The Swede is a mean striker who doesn’t discriminate between head, legs or body. The 32-year-old hits hard early and often, always looking to finish.

Chiara Penco (9-5) has a lot of experience fighting around the globe, notably for Bellator, Oktagon and EFC. This will be her first time stepping into the CW cage. The 29-year-old is a submission player with six tap outs on her record, usually looking for an armbar or rear naked choke. The Italian is gritty on the feet. Fabiola Pidroni (7-2) is an Ares and Brave CF veteran, and at one stage was due to compete in the Contender Series. The 31-year-old is a strong wrestler who likes to take you down and pummel you until the referee pulls her off the opponent. The Italian likes a big slam and using a lot of power.

Luca Borando (6-1) is one of the top prospects in the Aurora gym in the capital. The 25-year-old has had an exciting run in CW, finishing four of his bouts via knockout. The IMMAF veteran downloads the data early before unleashing his power in the second and third rounds, throwing devastating shots to every level of the body. Tariel Abbasov (9-3) is an FNC veteran who came up short in his CW debut against the formidable Luke Riley. The 29-year-old is all about the submission play. The Azeri has a mean guillotine and is very good at taking the back and sinking in a choke.

Simone D’Anna (11-6) is a Bellator veteran with a 50:50 record so far in CW after facing some top competition. The 30-year-old is a fantastic wrestler who utilises ground and pound well to open up the submission game. The Roman does the basics well and his losses have only really been to championship level opponents for the most part. Nicolas Barna (9-5) is a Uruguayan who grew up kicking people on a football pitch and loved it so much he took up martial arts. The 29-year-old doesn’t have tonnes of power, however he’s still a threat on the feet. The Combate Global veteran is used to fighting high level opposition and is looking to bounce back following defeat to Giuseppe Ruggeri in his debut in May.

Gabriele Casella (debut) is the latest of the Aurora MMA conveyer belt. The Italian is a former regional kickboxing champion who is switching codes for this one. Unsurprisingly he’ll be trying to use his striking to get it done here, however it will be interesting to see how he does with the grappling as he comes from a gym with some talented groundsmen. Rob Earls (1-0) comes from the GB Top Team gym in London. The Englishman won his pro debut via arm triangle and he regularly appeared for CW in their academy system.

Theodor Berggren (6-3) is an exciting fighter who came through FCR in his homeland and was defeated in his CW debut by champion Justin Burlinson last November. The Swede is very slick on the ground with a great back take and locks in subs quickly. The 25-year-old also likes to unleash his inner-Viking and get into a bloody bust-up. Daniele Battaglia (3-1) is another of the Aurora prospects. The Italian likes to push the pace on the feet early, and he has heavy, heavy hands. The 27-year-old works quickly and has never seen a third round to date. This will be the first time we’ve seen him in a year, before that he was quite an active fighter.

Emanuele Tetti (4-0) is one of the most promising talents out of the Aurora gym and has been with CW his whole pro career. The 30-year-old is a talented kickboxer who possesses a knockout threat early on, and the ability to point-fight to a decision. The Italian is gaining valuable rounds in the cage and will be looking to make the breakthrough here. Dimitrios Tzeiranidis (2-2) was defeated in his debut last May to Pietro Mochetti. The Greek is also from a kickboxing background. The 25-year-old is a heavy hitter and both his wins have been knockouts. His power lasts long into the fight.

Gabrielle Cera (1-0) makes his debut in the yellow gloves and comes in from Karate Combat. Another of the Aurora crew, he has been upskilling his grappling since switching to MMA. The Italian won his pro debut via ground and pound. Francesco Tumminiello (1-0) made his CW debut last May. The Italian ended things early in the first with his striking. The Roman will be looking for more of the same here.

Pietro Mochetti (4-2) has won both his CW bouts so far, including a Von Flue choke win last time out. The Italian was all decisions before that, and he had a lot of success in grappling exchanges as an amateur. The Aurora man will be looking to keep the win streak going. Jack Foote (1-0) came through the amateur scene in BUDO before winning his pro debut in CW with a second round rear naked choke. The Scot is a choke specialist, excelling at the guillotine technique. The 24-year-old Falkirk man rarely goes to a decision and will aggressively peruse the tap out.

Manuel Lancioli (3-2) has lost his last two after an early career hat trick of wins, including losing his CW debut to Antonio Amodeo in May. The Italian likes to do his work on the feet, possessing a good boxing game. He’s very tough and durable and already has a lot of rounds in the bank early in his pro life. Alexander O’Sullivan (3-0) is the head honcho over at C-Mac gym in Mulhuddart. The Irishman had a long and storied 30-fight amateur career, fighting the best that was on offer, including at IMMAF level. The Irishman is a very good grappler who is very dangerous with armbars and triangle chokes.

Claudio Iancu (4-7) is undefeated in his last three, turning around a tough start to his career, however this will be his first appearance in five years. The Romanian showed good wrestling back in the day, with some submission threat. The 29-year-old is also a capable kickboxer. He’s almost like an unknown quantity with this return. Kevin Caperna (2-2) is an IMMAF veteran with a knack of getting into close fights. The Italian prefers a stand-up style with a decent bit of power behind his strikes. The 28-year-old struggled with defensive grappling as an amateur. Activity might be his main weapon, competing non-stop since taking up the sport.

Cage Warriors 195 is live and exclusive this Saturday on UFC Fight Pass. The action kicks off at 17:00.
