Conor McGregor recieves jiu-jitsu purple belt ahead of Cage Warriors 51

Cage Warriors featherweight champion Conor McGregor received his purple belt today over at Mjolnir gym in Iceland.

The news was announced via Mjolnir’s official Facebook, and the post read as follows

“After a class of Vikingathrek, two hours of sparring and a hour of BJJ competition team rolling in Mjölnir, Conor got his well deserved purple belt! Well done and congratulations my good friend.”

Conor will be looking to add yet another belt to his collection on New Year’s Eve at Cage Warriors 51, when he steps up to lightweight to fight for the championship once again in his hometown of Dublin, after his original opponent Jim Alers was forced off the card due to injury.

Conor is currently over in Iceland at Mjolnir training for Ivan Buchinger later this month with the likes of Gunnar Nelson, Arni Isaksson and of course head coach John Kavanagh (as seen above)
