Taka Mhandu and Omran Chaaban Sign Multi-Fight Cage Warriors Deals

Team KF fighters Taka Mhandu and Omran Chaaban have signed long-term contracts with Cage Warriors. Multiple sources confirmed the five-fight deals to SevereMMA.com.

The signings of Mhandu and Chaaban bring the total number of Team KF fighters in the promotion to 5, with brothers Adam and Ryan Shelley and former Cage Warriors champion James Webb already penning deals with the leading UK promotion.

Taka “The Cat” Mhandu (2-1) went undefeated in his amateur career before transitioning to the pro circuit last year. The 24-year-old Dubliner originally signed with South African based EFC, where he went 1-1 in the promotion. COVID-19 restrictions would scupper further outings under the EFC banner. Mhandu most recently bounced back from his first loss in MMA with a destructive performance over Ozbazaje Meraj at Cage Conflict 6 in Belfast.

Omran “The Lebanese Gorilla” Chaaban (2-1) is another exciting signing by Cage Warriors. Born in Lebanon, Chaaban grew up in Finland where he found his passion for MMA, winning a number of national titles. After linking up with Chris Fields and Team KF, the then 19-year-old made the decision to move to Ireland permanently to pursue his professional career in Mixed Martial Arts. No stranger to Cage Warriors, Chaaban made his pro debut in the famous yellow gloves at CW110 in Neptune Stadium, Cork. “The Lebanese Gorilla” would go on to fight twice under the UAE Warriors banner, most recently scoring a 3rd-round finish over Kher Khalifa Eshoushan last October.
