Frans Mlambo vs. Dominique Wooding Off; Rachid Haz Steps In

The highly anticipated bantamweight contest between Frans Mlambo and Dominique Wooding is off. The pair were set to face off in the bantamweight tournament as part of the PFL European Series: 2023 Regular Season on July 8.

Sources have confirmed to SevereMMA that Wooding has been forced off the card with an undisclosed injury. “The Black Mamba” will remain on the card for his PFL debut, and will now take on Rachis Haz (12-2) who steps in for Wooding on short notice.

Mlambo (13-5) has not competed since winning the Copa Combate, a one-night tournament which was held by Combate Global in Florida in December 2021. The SBG standout is riding a 5-fight win-streak as he looks to kick off his PFL stint next Saturday night in Berlin Germany.

His new opponent, Rachid Haz, will represent Spain in the tournament bracket and fights under John Wood at Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas, Nevada. Haz will also make his PFL debut, he also rides an impressive 4-fight win-streak. His most recent win came against Victor Nunez last February for Mexican based promotion UWC.

Mlambo vs. Haz will be one leg of a bantamweight tournament that will feature Europe’s top talent. Lewis McGrillen-Evans vs Amralu Saydoshurov, Ali Taleb vs. Jenkins Bortoluzzi and Moktar Benkaci vs. Khurshed Kakhorov are the fights that will complete the 135-pound bracket. The semi-finalists will then enter a single-elimination playoff in Paris, France, with the eventual winners moving on to the championship event in Dublin, Ireland.

PFL Europe 2: 2023 Regular Season will be broadcast on DAZN on July 8th from Berlin, Germany.
