Pedro Carvalho vs Jeremy Kennedy Set for Bellator Dublin on Feb 24

Update: Since publishing the original news article, SevereMMA.com have confirmed with multiple sources that both Carvalho and Kennedy have signed their contracts.

A featherweight showdown between #3-ranked Pedro Carvalho (13-6) and #5-ranked Jeremy Kennedy (18-3) is targeted for Bellator’s Dublin show on Friday 24th February. Multiple sources have confirmed with SevereMMA.com that the bout has been verbally agreed between both fighters.

With featherweight king Patricio “Pitbull” Freire already booked to face Rizin champion Kleber Koike Erbst in a super fight on the co-promotion New Years Eve show, SBG Ireland’s Carvalho and Xtreme Couture’s Kennedy will look set to battle it out for the no.1 contender spot at 145lbs.

Carvalho is coming off a career-best performance over Mads Burnell in September, besting the Danish fighter over three rounds. “The Game” is 2-2 since previously challenging for Freire’s title, but the 27-year-old Portugese fighter seems to have found an extra gear as of late.

Kennedy will enter the bout off the back of a doctor stoppage victory over the highly-touted Aaron Pico last month. “JBC” is 3-1 since signing with Bellator. The Canadian is also a UFC and PFL vet, his sole loss under the UFC banner to now P4P king Alexander Volkanovski.

Carvalho and Kennedy have been jawing back and forth, with Kennedy calling for a fight in Dublin. It seems that both fighters have finally gotten their wish.
