UFC Vegas 40 Results

Aspen Ladd moved up to the bantamweight division to take on Norma Dumont in the UFC Vegas 40 headliner on Saturday night. Former UFC heavyweight champion, and future Hall of Famer, Andrei Arlovski stepped in to take on Brazilian heavyweight Carlos Felipe in the co-main event. Check out all the highlights and the official results of the entire card below.

Ariane Carnelossi showed great heart and won a dog fight against Istela Nunes in the women’s strawweight division. Both fighters put on a show to open up the card as the Brazilians battled on the feet and on the ground before Carnelossi grabbed a rear-naked choke and forced the tap in round three.

Danaa Batgeral made it three finishes in three fights as he overcame Brandon Davis in the 135-pound division. The Mongolian landed a barrage of strikes which hurt Davis and put him on the back foot. Batgeral turned up the heat and forced the ref to call a halt to the action in the very first round. The Jackson-Wink bantamweight has won his last three by knockout and looks a good prospect.

Lupita Godinez came in to take on Luana Carolina after fight just seven days ago. Both strawweight athletes were very evenly matched and fought all the way to the judges scorecards. All three judges scored the fight for Carolina and Godinez was left disappointed.

Danny Roberts returned from a shoulder replacement and beat Ramazan Emeev via split decision in the welterweight division. Roberts has not stepped inside the octagon for two years and said post-fight after his win that his wants to compete again before the end of the year. Incredible comeback win for the Englishman.

Nate Landwehr was the biggest underdog going in to fight Ludovit Klein in the featherweight divsion. Landwehr put on a pace that Klein was unable to keep up with, Landwehr pulled off a beautiful anaconda choke in round three for the victory.

Manon Fiorot didn’t manage to pick up a finish but did keep her win streak alive in the flyweight division. The French woman overcame Mayra Bueno by unanimous decision and remains undefeated inside the octagon.

Jim Miller rolled back the years and picked up his first knockout win since 2016 against Erick Gonzalez. The lightweight veteran came back after facing some adversity in the first round, Miller landed an overhand right to finish the fight in the early stages of round two.

Both Carlos Felipe and Andrei Arlovski stood toe-to-toe for the entirety of their heavyweight co-main event. It was the former champ Arlovski who won a razor close decision over his Brazilian rival, in doing so Arlovski moves to 4-1 in his last five. Arlovski, who was born in Belarus, has had a 50+ fight career and was heavyweight champion back in 2005.

Norma Dumont jabbed her way to a unanimous decision win over Aspen Ladd in the featherweight main event to climb to 7-1 in her professional career. Ladd offered very little in the early stages of the contest with Dumont landing her jab at will as Ladd struggled to implement her gameplan of getting this fight to the canvas. Dumont was taken down at the end of round three but was well in control throughout.
