UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Woodley Results

Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley settled their bad blood in the UFC Apex on Saturday night. In the co-main event Cowboy Cerrone and Nico Price went to war in a welterweight bout.

The main event went all the way to the final round where Colby Covington took home the win. In what was a lacklustre affair the fight was called to a halt by Dan Miragliotta after Tyron Woodley appeared to pop a rib.

Nico Price and Cowboy Cerrone fought to a majority draw in the co-main event. In the first round Price had a point deduction from referee Jason Herzog for an eye poke. It was the first draw of Cowboy’s career.

Khamzat Chimaev put on an astonishing performance in his middleweight bout with Gerald Meerschaert. Chimaev backed up all his trash talk and got the knockout after just :17 seconds. We have an uber prospect on our hands.

In a back and forth wild fight Johnny Walker knocked out Ryan Spann. Both fighters were hurt in a wild first round. It was Walker who landed the final blows when elbows on Spann when Spann went in for a takedown. A good win for the SBG fighter.

Mackenzie Dern was too much for Randa Markos in their strawweight encounter. She secured an armbar in the very first round and put her BJJ credentials on display in a fantastic performance.

Kevin Holland got the job done against Darren Stewart in their middleweight fight. The scorecards were split but in the end it was Holland that came away with the victory in a close fight.

David Dvorak and Jordan Espinosa fought all three rounds in which there was leg kick’s galore. Dvorak got the nod on all three judges scorecards in an unanimous decision victory for the Czech fighter.

Damon Jackson got the upset win over #15 ranked Mirsad Bektić. Jackson took the fight on three days notice and got the submission win in round three.

Mayra Bueno Silva locked in an armbar on Mara Borella in their flyweight bout. Silva picked up her second UFC win in the first round.

Jessica-Rose Clark won her fight against Sarah Alpar. Clark looked to have finished the fight in round two when she landed a legal knee, breaking Alpar’s nose. Referee Chris Tognoni ordered the fight to go on. Clark went on to win by TKO in round three.

Darrick Minner got his first UFC win and finish over T.J. Laramie. Minner didn’t hang about jumping on a guillotine on Laramie and got the tap in under a minute in round 1. Minner makes it 22 submission victories for the American.

Randy Costa devastated Journey Newson with a head kick knockout to put himself right in contention for a bonus. The American is nicknamed “The Zohan” and he showed the bantamweight division that he is not to be messed with.

Andre Ewell and Irwin Rivera threw caution to the win in their bantamweight encounter. Ewell picked up a split decision in what was an early FOTN candidate.

Tyson Nam got a second round stoppage in his bout with Jerome Rivera. Chris Tognoni called a halt to the bout in the second round with Nam landing a huge right hand. Nam finished with some ground and pound for the TKO.
