Bellator Announce T.V. Deal with CBS; Cancelation of Bellator Dublin confirmed

Bellator President Scott Coker announced in a press conference on Friday that Bellator are moving from Paramount Sports over to CBS Sports Network. Coker also confirmed the cancelation of the planned Bellator Dublin that was set to go down in a massive month for the promotion in October.

Bellator’s head honcho also announced that all cards will be now shown live in the US as opposed to the tape delayed fight cards. The first fight on CBSSN will be Bellator Milan headlined by Paul Daley vs. Derek Anderson. That fight happen on Thursday October 1.

Coker also confirmed details of the recently announced Bellator Paris card set to take place on October 10. The Paris card will allow 5000 fans to be in attendance.

Women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg had her next bout confirmed in the press conference. She will make her first title defence against Arlene Blencowe on Thursday October 15 at Bellator 247.

Finally the Bellator president went on to announce a highly anticipated bout between Douglas Lima and Gegard Mousasi. Lima, the current welterweight champion will move up top fight the current middleweight champion in Mousasi. That fight is set to go down on October 29 at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

SevereMMA’s own Seán Sheehan followed up with Scott Coker about the decision to call off the Dublin card. Coker seemed disappointed not to be able to hold the event. He went on to say, “We love going to Dublin. It’s one of my favorite fight towns to hold events. It’s just amazing, I mean, I love the fight fans.”
