Tough night at the office for all 3 Irish fighters at Cage Warriors 113

There was no joy for any of the Irish fighters at Cage Warriors 113 at the BEC Arena in Manchester last night. Joe McColgan and Mason Jones fought in front of an empty arena for the lightweight title.

McColgan was stopped in the first round by the Welshman. Jones moved to 9-0 with a blistering performance against McColgan who trains out of Fight Academy Ireland in Belfast.

Earlier in the night McColgan’s teammate Decky Dalton (11-5-0) was defeated by Paddy Pimblett (15-3-0) who was coming off a 16 month layoff. Dalton, who took the fight at short notice was unable to shake off Pimblett who took Dalton’s back after the Belfast man lost his footing. Pimblett went on to dominate on the ground and winn via TKO in round 1.

On the prelims section of the card Cork man Darren O’Gorman faced off against Connor Hignett. The Englishman stunned viewers with a come from behind third round KO.
