Bellator Return to Ireland On February 22nd

Déjà vu! James Gallagher and Cal Ellenor will headline Bellator Dublin. The American-based promotion announced the news in a press release on Wednesday morning. The event will take place in the 3Arena on Saturday, February 22nd. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 29 at 9 a.m. GMT, with a special pre-sale scheduled for Wednesday, November 27 at 9 a.m. GMT.

The pair were initially scheduled to headline Bellator’s Dublin show in September but Ellenor showed adverse findings in a brain scan and Gallagher took on Roman Salazar instead.

In the press release, Bellator stated that Ellenor has been cleared to return as the initial reading was a mistake.

“Ellenor has been medically cleared by a licensed physician to return to active competition, following an incorrect reading initially provided by a doctor in South Africa. Bellator MMA, as well as the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations which oversees the organization’s international events, maintains that athletes pass all medical requirements, ensuring they are held to the highest standards in safety and regulation,” the press release said.

Gallagher is currently 10-1 in his MMA career with 8 wins via submission. This will be his 3rd time headlining in Dublin’s 3Arena.

Ellenor is a similarly experienced prospect at 8-2 with arguably the best win of his career coming last time out when he beat Nathan Greyson last February.
