Holly Holm vs Cris “Cyborg” Justino confirmed for UFC 219

The UFC announced tonight that Cris Cyborg will defend her UFC featherweight championship against Holly Holm at their end of year event on 30th December 2017.

Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reported and the UFC confirmed via Twitter tonight that former bantamweight champion Holly Holm will return to featherweight to challenge Cris Cyborg for the strap at UFC 219.

Holm is coming into the bout following a third-round TKO finish over Bethe Correia in June of this year. This will be the second time in 2017 that Holm challenges for the 145 title. Back in February, Holm challenged Germaine De Randamie for the inaugural belt at 145lbs but lost on a split decision. De Randamie was subsequently stripped of the title.

Cyborg won the vacant featherweight championship back in July with a third-round stoppage over Tonia Evinger at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California.
