Irishman Charlie Ward signs with the UFC; faces Randy Brown in December

The UFC announced tonight that Irishman Charlie Ward (3-1) has signed for the UFC and will face Randy Brown (8-1) in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Albany, New York on 9th December 2016.

The SBG Ireland product has won his last 3 pro bouts with his only loss coming in his debut as a professional to former BAMMA middleweight champion John Phillips, in a bout he was winning before being finished by the heavy handed Phillips.

Brown is 2-1 inside the UFC with wins over Matt Dwyer and most recently Erick Montano by guillotine choke at UFC Fight Night 94 in September 2016 and has only been to a decision once in his professional career.
