Update: Final Fight Championship have today responded (via Joe.ie) to Norman Parke’s Facebook post which claimed he would face undefeated Vlado Sikic at one of their events in September by saying that “it is absolutely not true” and that they are not even sure if they “want to cooperate with Parke”.

Here is the promotion’s statement in full:

“It is true, and I can confirm, that FFC is interested to sign Norman Parke. He is one of the former UFC fighters that we’d like to add to our roster in this year, which is crucial for our promotion since we have some upcoming events in the US.

“However, it is absolutely not true that Norman Parke will have his debut against Vladimir Šikić in Linz this September. Actually, I’m not even sure whether we still want to cooperate with Parke after he published this information so hastily.

“Vladimir Šikić could be Parke’s potential opponent just like any other FFC fighter in his division.

“Parke asked for permission… to publish this information about his FFC debut, but he did not get green light from us. Despite that, the news appeared in the European media and this is very unprofessional. I am sorry that happened.”

Norman Parke announced on his Facebook page today that he has signed with FCC (Final Fight Championship) in Austria and will be fighting undefeated striker Vlado Sikic (10-0-1) in September 2016.

Parke’s recent release from the UFC was seen as harsh by most fans after the Northern Irishman had gone 5-3-1 inside the promotion with his losses coming via close decisions.

Sikic has 9 finishes from his 10 wins, with only his debut and his draw with Islam Maganadov going to a decision.

Here is the statement:

“Hi guys! I’m now announcing that my next fight will be against undefeated 10-0 striker “Valdo Sikic” this will be main event on FFC ( Final Fight championship) in Austria, September. This is where my next journey starts, I will be heading out Thailand to prepare for this fight and be in the best possible shape I can. I promise to finish him in this fight and get back to my best! Stay posted for more info”
