UFC have announced that the planned UFC 196 card on 6th February 2016 will now be called UFC Fight Night and will air on Fox Sports 1 instead of on PPV (Pay Per View).

The event was set to be headlined by Werdum vs Velasquez for the heavyweight championship but injuries to both fighters led to the UFC promoting Johny Hendricks vs Stephen Thompson to the 5 round main event and move the card to free television.

This means that the originally announced UFC 197: dos Anjos vs McGregor will now be called UFC 196 and that the UFC plan to fit another PPV event in before the highly anticipated UFC 200 event.

This may mean that the UFC will redesign the dos Anjos vs McGregor official poster to include McGregor’s featherweight belt as Ariel Helwani and @PropJosh pointed out on Twitter. However they may just adjust the number on the poster like we have done for the image used with this article.
