Chael Sonnen announces his retirement from MMA

Former UFC light-heavyweight and middleweight challenger Chael Sonnen has announced his retirement from MMA just one day after it was revealed he had failed a random drug test.

This was not the first time Sonnen had failed a drug test, having tested positive for high levels of testosterone following his UFC 117 championship bout with Anderson Silva.

Sonnen (37) made the announcement on Wednesday night on the UFC’s magazine show ‘UFC Tonight’ which he co-hosts with Kenny Florian.

His final professional MMA record is 28-14-1.
