John Hathaway vs John Maguire set for UFC on FUEL: Nottingham

Two British welterweight fighters will square off in September when the UFC travel to Nottingham, as John Hathaway takes on John Maguire.

News was revealed by the promotion today.

Once described as the UK’s “Next Big Thing”, John Hathaway made people pay attention with his fantastic win over Diego Sanchez. A loss to Mike Pyle slowed down his rapid rise to the top, but he has since returned to form with wins over Kris McKray and former Cage Warriors champion Pascal Krauss.

He will take on a former UCMMA champion in Nottingham.

John “The One” Maguire has looked exceptional in his UFC career to date. Making his debut last November, Maguire weathered an early storm to control Justin Edwards and earn a decision win. He returned this April and defeated DaMarques Johnson in the second round by a tight armbar. The submission also earned him a nice bonus cheque.
