The Ultimate Fighter LIVE starts this Friday on FX and ESPN (IRE&UK)

The Ultimate Fighter LIVE on FX (ESPN in Ireland & UK) starts tonight (friday) at 9pm ET (2am GMT). 32 fighters will fight tonight, 16 will go home, the 16 winners will enter the Ultimate Fighter house in Las Vegas.

All 32 fighters will fight at Lightweight (155lbs). Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber are the coaches and they really don’t like each other. The first they met they fought, for the WEC featherweight championship. Faber won via first round submission. This loss is still to this date Cruz’s only loss.

Cruz is the first ever UFC bantamweight champion, after being awarded the belt when Zuffa merged the WEC into the UFC because he was the reigning WEC champion at the time. His first title defense was against his bitter rival, and only loss, Faber.

Dominick won a unanimous decision in the Fight of the Night, successfully defending his belt in the process.

This is the first ever live Ultimate Fighter, every Friday night there will be one live fight, starting next Friday 16th March.
