UFC 143: Diaz vs Condit does approx 400k PPV buys

Dave Metzler of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that UFC 143 Condit vs Diaz did approx 400k PPV buys. With the prelims on FX doing 1.4 million viewers

This is slightly higher than most expected. Was this because of Nick Diaz? A lot of casual fans know BJ Penn, and after the Diaz and Penn bout, it seems a lot of fans were impressed and willing to splash out big money for the PPV even without a so called big pay per view draw on the card.

It’s nowhere near the numbers that UFC 100 reached (1.6 million) nor is it on par with top draws like GSP, Lesnar, Anderson Silva etc. Here are the top 20 UFC PPV buyrates
