Cage Contender XVI: Full Card and Information

Cage Contender XVI goes down this weekend in Dublin and will feature Paul Daley vs Patrick Vallee in the highly anticipated main event.

Patrick Vallee is 9-4-1-2, having battled with top fighters such as UFC welterweight contender Siyar Bahadurzada, who he fought to a draw in Vallee’s first ever professional bout, and tricky Brazilian Swede UFC and PRIDE veteran David Bielkheden.

Paul Daley is well known to MMA fans, having fought in the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator. Daley is known for his striking power, hence the nickname “Semtex”, and has earned 21 KOs in his 30 wins.

In the co-main event, Cage Contender interim welterweight champion Arni Isaksson (12-4) takes on Ali Arish (17-2) who hasn’t fought for Cage Contender since picking up an unanimous decision victory over Nathan Champ at Cage Contender 6 in Manchester back in 2010.

Iceland’s Isaksson impressively beat Wayne Murrie and a bout of food poisoning back at Cage Contender 15 in Belfast in October 2012 to win the Cage Contender interim strap.

For the first time, Cage Contender will broadcast live around the world. The broadcast will be available on Setanta Ireland in Ireland and Premier Sports in the UK

Fight Network will air the events live in Canada, with FightNowTV broadcasting live in America. Viewers in Portugal, Turkey, Mozambique and Angola will also be able to watch live on television.

There will also be a worldwide PPV (Pay-Per-View) option on the LiveSport.tv platform, who also carry One FC and other major sporting events.

The weigh in will be held in the main lunch hall of IT Tallaght and starts at 3.15pm on Friday 22nd February.
