Cage Warriors 50: Weigh-In Results

Paul McVeigh and Brandon Hempleman are ready to clash in tomorrow night’s Cage Warriors 50 main event after they had no problems making weight this afternoon in Glasgow.

Both fighters tipped the scales at 130.7lbs ahead of their 130lbs catchweight bout, which headlines Cage Warriors’ first ever event in Scotland on Saturday at the Kelvin Hall.

Several fighters failed to make weight, including co-main event competitor Wilson Reis. The Bellator veteran weighed in at 140.2lbs for his bantamweight meeting with Owen Roddy. Reis opted not to cut any more weight so 40% of his purse will pass to Roddy.

Denniston Sutherland came in heavy at 187.9lbs for his middleweight bout against Scott Askham. Sutherland was still off the mark at 186.6lbs when he returned two hours later and therefore surrenders 25% of his purse to Askham.

Nathan Beer had 3.2lbs to cut for his featherweight encounter with Graham Turner. Beer returned to the scales at 148.2lbs so 25% of his purse passes to Turner.

On the preliminary card, Ahsan Gilani stepped in as a late replacement to fight Alex Enlund and Enlund agreed to a 141.2lbs catchweight to accommodate Gilani.

Alex Davidson was 0.8lbs over at the first attempt for his featherweight fight against Sean McDonald but returned 20 minutes later on the mark at 145.1lbs.
