Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson out of UFC 153 bout with Glover Teixeira

Bad news for those hoping that UFC 153 would go off without any other injuries. According to UFC president Dana White, former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson isn’t fighting Glover Teixeira at UFC 153 due to injury.

He announced it to the world via twitter a little while ago:

“Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!” – @danawhite

Jackson (32-10) had talked of leaving the UFC after this bout since this was the last fight on his contract, but I guess that will have to wait for now. No word on the injury has come out as of yet, but Rampage has talked many times of fighting through injuries before so this is probably serious. No new opponent for Teixeira has been named yet, but that will probably be handled in the next few days.
