Bellator 270: Pitbull vs. Queally 2 Results

Bellator 270 went down Friday, November 5th at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The event was be headlined by a Lightweight World Title fight between SBG’s Peter Queally and Brazilian veteran Patricky Pitbull. It was rematch from the first encounter which took place at Bellator 358. The co-main event was a mouth watering affair between James Gallagher and #3 ranked bantamweight Patchy Mix in what could very well have been a title eliminator fight. Stephen Costello was defeated by heel hook by Yusuf Nazokatov in the curtain raiser. Both welterweight debutants fought in a close knit affair with lots of striking exchanges and scrambles. The SBG man found himself caught in a heel hook in round two and was forced to tap.

Danni Neilan dropped Audrey Kerouche in round two and went on to grab the TKO finish in round two in what was a masterful performance overall. The SBG based strawweight divison remains undefeated and moves to 5-0.

Gokhan Saricam made short work of Charlie Milner in their heavyweight clash. Saricam, who fight out of Turkey, made a statement in his 15 second demolition of Milner, you can see the fight in its entirety below.

Ciaran Clarke remains undefeated and moves to 4-0 after his third round submission win over Jordan Breen. Both featherweight fought a gritty fight which turned into a classic striker vs. grappler encounter. Round one was a tight affair, round two went to Breen after he land a huge knee and more strikes on the feet. Clarke may have been down by two round going into the third and it look as if the fight was slipping away from the Drogheda man. Clarke got the fight to the mat, took the back of Breen and sunk in a rear-naked choke in the latter stages of round three. Clarke showed to fantastic heart to get the win.

Pedro Carvalho got back into the win column as he took home a razor close split decision in their featherweight encounter. Weichel dropped the Portuguese standout a couple of times at the start of the fight, Carvalho rallied back and took home the win on the scorecards.

James Gallagher fell short in his co-main event title eliminator fight with Patchy Mix. Gallagher and Mix traded on the feet and both warriors went for multiple submission throughout the fight. Mix locked in a guillotine choke at the start of round three which forced the tap from the Strabane man who moves his record to 11-2.

Lightweight veteran Patricky Pitbull picked up his first World Title as he stopped Peter Queally in the second round. Both warriors traded on the feet for the entire first round. Round too started with an eye poke from Queally on Pitbull, after getting some treatment fro the cageside doctor the Brazilian was able to continue. Patricky piled on the pressure after the break, landed a huge right hand and went on to pick up an standing TKO victory to be crowned the lightweight king of Bellator.
