Irish fighters Joe McColgan, Jack Maguire, and James Sheehan have all been added to Cage Warriors’ “The Trilogy Strikes Back” series, the European promotion announced earlier this week. The series will consist of three consecutive fight nights across Thursday 10th, Friday 11th, and Saturday 12th December, all taking place inside London’s iconic York Hall.

MMA Cork’s Jack Maguire (1-1) is scheduled to face LD Fighters’ Dan Kneil (0-1) in a bantamweight fight at Cage Warriors 117. Maguire will join fellow Corkonian Darren O’Gorman on the opening card of the series, and he will look to build some momentum off the back of his dominant decision victory over Ciaran Mulholland at CW114. Kneil will be in search of his first pro win, having lost his pro debut last year at CW108.

Team Ryano’s James Sheehan (2-2) returns to the cage on Saturday 12th December when he faces Josh Plant (2-3) in a welterweight matchup at Cage Warriors 119. Sheehan missed out on the first “TRILOGY” series due to college exams, and he will look to kick on from his submission win over Kyran Sturrock back at CW112 in March. Plant competes for the first time since 2018, and Irish fans may remember him from his previous matchup against another Irishman, Kiefer Crosbie.

Fight Academy Ireland team captain Joe McColgan (6-3-1) is back in lightweight action as he takes on Englishman Kieran Lister (7-0-1) on Cage Warriors 119. We last saw McColgan challenge for the vacant Cage Warriors title against now-UFC fighter Mason Jones back in March. Ultimately, Jones was victorious, stopping McColgan in the first round. Jones would go on to become a double champion and sign for the UFC. McColgan must now regroup and reestablish himself as a title contender in Cage Warriors, and a win over someone of Kieran Lister’s calibre would do just that. Lister is undefeated in his pro career, the only non-victory on his record being a decision draw against SBG Ireland rising star Constantin Gnusariov under the Bellator banner. The Dungeon MMA fighter put on an entertaining fight for the fans in his successful Cage Warriors debut with a decision win over Tom Mearns. A big statement win by either McColgan or Lister would put the victor right in the mix in the CW lightweight title picture.

Cage Warriors 117, 118, and 119 will be broadcast on UFC FightPass.
