Irishman Richard Kiely announces his retirement from MMA

Irishman Richard Kiely (2-1) announced his retirement from MMA on his Facebook and confirmed the decision to us this evening.

Kiely revealed he will focus on other pursuits and thanked his opponents, team, sponsors and supporters.

“And that’s a wrap. I’ve decided to retire from competitive MMA and focus my energy on other pursuits. I had a great time and really enjoyed the journey.

“Thanks to my opponents, there was never any real animosity and I have huge respect for them all.

“Thank you to my coach John Kavanagh and all my training partners. Special thank you to David Alexander Roche who took me under his wing and was both a mentor and a friend, all my sponsors and anyone that helped or supported me along the way. It’s much appreciated.”
