Ronda Rousey opens as 4 to 1 favourite over champion Miesha Tate

Ahead of their title clash this Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, the bookies have set Ronda Rousey as close to a 4 to 1 favourite over Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate. Tate is a 2.5 to 1 underdog.

Although Rousey (4-0) is relatively new to MMA, her takedown and submission skills are considered on another level to all her Strikeforce competitors as she earned an Olympic bronze medal in Judo.

Miesha “Takedown” Tate is well known for her wrestling but will a takedown benefit her against arm bar expert Rousey?

Ronda has had trouble with former opponents tapping and then disputing the tap, but has been unforgiving since, snapping Julia Budd’s arm in her last outing.

According to Rousey, Budd was greased up in the fight, but it didn’t seem to matter, with the finish coming in the first round. In fact all Ronda has finished all of her MMA opponents in the first round.
