Well, Here’s the Good News

It’s not all doom and gloom in the MMA world. Some members of the MMA community have been doing some great things and announcing great personal news. It’s important to stay positive and I’m here to help you achieve that goal. We have decided to help keep that positivism flowing the best that we can. Nothing but good news for you to feast your eyes on.

This weeks article is solely dedicated to Dustin Poirier. Saturday night he stepped into the octagon and put it all on the line, as did his opponent Dan Hooker. A tough loss for Hooker no doubt but he was beaten by the better fighter on the night. Poirier’s work is not finished just yet. He will now auction off his fight gear and donate the proceeds to his non profit organisation The Good Fight Foundation.

Poirier and his wife founded the Good Fight Foundation in 2018. “The Diamond” began auctioning off his own fight kits after every fight to benefit local community initiatives in his hometown of Louisiana. For his efforts the UFC have decided to name Poirier the winner of inaugural recipient of Forrest Griffin Community Award. Here is Jon Anik speaking to the former interim lightweight champion about winning the award.

Here is the man from Lafayette, Louisiana sharing what his plans are for all the money generated from the latest auction. A gesture that be benefit many struggling business in the area.

What Dustin Poirier has contributed the the sport of Mixed Martial Arts through the years has been nothing short of sensational. But it’s his work outside the cage that will have him remembered and appreciated long after his fighting days are over. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this man. He is a fantastic representative of MMA and an absolute credit to himself.
